RESTORATIVE INTERVENTION ON THE CEREMONIAL STAIRCASE AND VESTIBULE
Conservation restoration work on the grand staircase and vestibule, constructed in the early 1930s based on a design by Engineer Chevalley, at Palazzo Perrone di San Martino, now the headquarters of UniCredit Bank. Following an extensive campaign of tests and sampling, interventions were carried out to address degradation phenomena by removing deposits and accretions on plastered, stucco, and stone surfaces, leading to the recovery of valuable frescoes by the painter Michele Antonio Milocco. These frescoes, originally from other rooms, were mounted in situ on support canvases following a detachment carried out by the painter Carlo Cussetti.
