Limen Domus | Pino Torinese

PRIVATE RESIDENCE

The villa is strategically positioned on the hill of Pino Torinese, offering views to the south over the plain and to the west towards the city of Turin and the Susa Valley. The architectural design is integrated with the natural topography of the site, establishing a seamless relationship between the built environment and its surroundings. The plot consists of a sharply sloped hillside, and the residence follows the terrain’s contours through a geometry that aligns with the natural lines of the land.

The building mass extends southward, creating a terrace nestled between the house and the slope, with unobstructed views of Turin and the surrounding hills.

From this enclosed terrace, access is provided to the summit of the hill, where a level area continues onto the roof, designed as a green lawn, and leads towards the panoramic swimming pool.

The living spaces are positioned at an intermediate level on the slope, with the daytime areas opening onto the enclosed garden, while the nighttime areas are oriented to the more private and secluded eastern side. The base of the hill accommodates the pilotis area, including the main entrance and the garage, at the level of the orchard.

The primary materials used are exposed concrete and wood.

The concrete structure is horizontally adapted to the land’s topography, with its form bending along the longitudinal profile towards the south. The wood cladding, extending from the ground level, appears to vertically penetrate the concrete, creating a light visual effect while establishing a connection between the building and its natural context.

The design concept does not stem from the pursuit of formal or typological significance but from a focus on territorial and environmental integration.
