CONVERSION AND RENOVATION OF BUILDING USE
Located in a beautiful early 20th-century villa at the corner of Via Villa della Regina and Via Moncalvo, in the heart of one of the most elegant areas of Turin at the foot of the hill, stands the new Adi Shakti Yoga Center.
The spaces, formerly home to a private gym, have been completely renovated to create an environment spread over three levels, totaling approximately 250 square meters. The intervention revolutionized the internal layout, optimizing the flow and improving the overall functionality of the center.
The project revolves around the new central staircase, which harmoniously connects the various floors from the main entrance. On the ground floor are the reception and the main hall; the basement houses a relaxation area connected to the changing rooms; while on the upper level there is an additional room dedicated to physical activities and meditation.
The materials chosen for the space finishes are simple and linear, designed not to distract those on their journey toward their inner dimension. The goal is to create a serene atmosphere free of elements that could interfere with hours of practice and meditation.
Lighting plays a fundamental role in the design: skillful and creative use of light creates intimate and enveloping environments. The light, never direct, is enhanced by decorative chandeliers which, with their refined play of reflections, serve as the only ornaments on the walls, giving character and uniqueness to the spaces.
